Chichester District Council Funding Grants Programme - Grants Now Open
Details about Chichester District Council’s new funding programme are now available on their website. The programme information, their priorities for funding and paperwork are all available for you to download here: www.chichester.gov.uk/grantsprogramme
As the webpage explains, the next closing date for applications (over £500) is Friday 4th November 2011. If you need more time to develop your bid there will be another opportunity to apply in February.
There is also a ‘fast track’ route for smaller applications (less than £500), this route uses a shorter application form and provides you with quicker decisions. Applications through the 'fast track' process will be considered every month.

VCACD's Fundraising Hub
FREE fundraising support offered to small voluntary and community groups by our newly established fundraising hub! The hub is being staffed by a paid fundraiser and team of volunteer fundraisers, based in VCACD's offices 60a North Street.
Organisations with a turnover of less than £30,000 are eligible to seek support from the volunteer fundraisers, who are being trained and advised by the paid fundraiser. Groups will recieve free support with all aspects of fundraising, including writing funding bids. The only cost will be a contribution to the volunteer's expenses.

Sussex Community Foundation
The Foundation awards grants to community and voluntary groups whose work benefits people in East Sussex, West Sussex or Brighton & Hove.
They are particularly interested in supporting smaller community based groups where a small grant can make a really big difference.
Grants can be awarded to any charitable cause that improves the quality of life for people in Sussex.

County Local Committee Funding
Each of the County Council’s fourteen County Local Committees (CLCs) have been allocated funding to distribute towards community schemes in the local area (there are two in Chichester District, Chichester North and Chichester South). The main objective of the scheme is to assist local community projects. Should you wish to submit an application, or want help in completing the form, please contact the County Local Committee team (telephone 01243 752727) who will assist you.
Applications must be received at least one month prior to the meeting date in order to be considered.
In considering applications the committee will have regard to the County Council’s priorities, as identified in the County Strategy and within the Local Area Agreement.

South Downs National Park Funding
A fund of £400,000 to support projects which contribute to improving the quality of life in the South Downs National Park is now open for applications (from 1 April 2011).
Applications for grants will be considered for sums from £250 up to £30k, with a ‘fast track’ process for small grants up to £2,000. The fund is available to community and voluntary groups and organisations in the private and public sectors who want to deliver projects of benefit to the South Downs National Park, and can include practical work, feasibility studies or research projects, partnership development and awareness and training initiatives.

Sport to Support Disadvantaged Young People
Sported is pleased to announce the launch of a brand new funding stream aimed to provide increased support to its member organisations. Members fitting the criteria will be able to apply for small grant funding of up to £2000
Sported is a charitable organisation which provides capacity building services and funding to voluntary and community sports groups that use sport to support disadvantaged young people.
Rather than delivering its own programmes, the charity wants to support the hundreads of fantastic organisations that are out there already. This is done through playing the role of business angels, dedicated to sport for development projects across the UK which run activities for young people aged 11-25.

The True Colours Trust
The True Colours Trust funds organisations & projects that support diabled children and their families on a daily basis. The Trust has a small grants programme, open to applications at any time, which provides grants of up to £10,000 to help smaller organisations develop & deliver programmes for children, their siblings & families. Sir Paul Getty Trust
The trustees of the Sir Paul Getty have now decided to wind down the Trust over a period of between five and ten years. This means that they will be increasing the level of annual spend and will be looking for opportunities to award a number of more substantial grants that will have an enduring impact.
They are currently inviting applications from registered charities in the following areas:
- Reducing Reoffending: projects aiming to improve the life of people in prison and smooth the transition for those leaving prison, maximising their chances of successful resettlement
- Improving Prospects: projects providing meaningful occupation for young people aged 14-19 to improve their employability and diminish the risk of social exclusion; work to improve the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers.
- Repairing Communities: projects led from within the community with the aim of integrating different social and ethnic groups in pursuit of worthwhile goals
- Repairing Lives: projects making a lasting impact on the lives of people with substance misuse problems; projects helping people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Preserving Heritage: conserving or restoring buildings and landscapes which are of national value and accessible to the public; saving from export art and manuscripts of national importance; developing conservation skills, especially among disadvantaged groups.
- Sustaining the Arts: nurturing and developing artistic endeavour of the highest quality

SUBWAY Heart Research UK
Health Hearts Grants of up to £10,000 are avilable for new, original and innovation projects that activley promote Heart Health and help to prevent, or reduce, the risk of heart disease in specific groups or communities. Community or voluntary organisations, registered charities or other not for profit organisations may apply. The funding round for the Meridian TV region is Thursday 1st September to Monday 31st October.
